From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A motel is a hotel designed for motorists, to an open parking area. Entering dictionaries after World War II, the word motel, a portmanteau of motor and hotel or motorists' hotel, referred initially to a type of hotel consisting of a single building of connected rooms whose doors faced a parking lot and, in some circumstances, a common area; or a series of small cabins with common parking. As the United States highway system began to develop in the 1920s, long distance road journeys became more and the need for inexpensive, easily accessible overnight accommodation sited close to the main routes, led to the growth of the motel concept. Thanks all for being patient with me, I just have so many questions and decisions to make. But how much does a horse "motel" generally charge per night? Thank you! Asked by Call Me Alice - Sun Sep 20 01:22:15 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Our barn charges $20 a night, and you supply feed, we do bedding and water. When I have traveled with my horses, I arrange ahead of time from a horse travel website (used to be a book) or I call Pony Clubs along the way and get places from them. If I am passing a town with a racetrack, I stay at one of the training barns near the track; those are either the best, or the worst, but there is always another one nearby if you hate the first one you try. Q. I'm from Northern California, and I plan on vacationing in Los Angeles for a few days... How old do you have to be to check in a Hotel or Motel? I'm 19... And I will be with a 17 and 20 year old. We're hoping to get into some TV shows as the audience! Asked by Impressive_Instant - Sun Apr 19 03:05:56 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. The minimum age is 18 because hotel rental agreements are legal contracts, and minors can not enter into contracts. However some hotels have a policy of not renting to anyone under 21 because unchaperoned teens tend to make noise that disturbs other guests, and they tend to break or damage things. You will need a credit card to check in (so they can bill you for damages) but upon checking out they will accept cash. Note that some of the more popular television programs have a waiting list. Check out the programs you want to see in advance. They all have websites that give detailed information about being an audience member.
